Castle Rock Colorado News and InformationIf you drive Front Street near Founders Parkway, this information is for you.

Taking care of the roads you drive is an important role of Castle Rock Public Works. Though inconvenient at times, roadwork helps not only smooth out your drive, but also extends the life of streets. Starting next week, crews will be focusing on the concrete pavement portion of Front Street, near Founders Parkway.

Between Milestone Lane and the south end of the concrete pavement, crews will first repair the concrete, then grind the pavement and then seal it. In addition, some repairs will be made to the roadway between Founders Parkway and Milestone Lane. To complete the work safely, crews will switch traffic around a bit. Here’s what to expect:

  • Starting Monday, Oct. 10, crews will be working along the southbound side of Front Street, between Milestone Lane and the south end of the concrete pavement, so both directions will share the northbound side. That setup is expected to last about one week.
  • Then, crews switch to the other side for about two weeks.
  • Finally, construction crews will swing back to the southbound side to finish repairs.

Alternate routes include Sam Walton Lane to Trailboss Drive and Woodlands Boulevard to Black Feather Trail.

In all, the work is expected to take four weeks. Business access is expected to be maintained throughout construction, with a few minor interruptions as crews move equipment around and work in the intersections. Colorado weather can impact roadwork, so watch electronic signs in the area.
