Castle Rock is a state-wide leader for conservation. Our residents have reduced their water use by more than 20 percent since 2006. With a goal of another 18 percent by 2055, additional conservation steps need to be taken. So, for the month of July, Castle Rock Water is inviting residents to “fill” the Rock with water savings.
“Fill” the Rock is a conservation contest for residents to take daily actions to reduce their water use, and in return be entered to win weekly prizes. For each day in July, Castle Rock Water will provide tips to conserve water. Whether it’s taking a shorter shower or programming the irrigation timer to cycle and soak, residents can log their daily conservation actions at CRconserve.com/FilltheRock.
Each action is an entry for a weekly prize drawing. Just remember to fill out the form on the website at the end of each week. The more actions taken, the more entries for prizes. Prizes include water bottles, passes to the MAC and a grand prize smart irrigation controller.
Throughout the month, each conservation action will be given an arbitrary value of 1,000 gallons of annual water savings. If 1,577 actions are logged, the Rock will have been successfully “filled” with the water savings. Any resident of Castle Rock is eligible to play and help “fill” the Rock.
Each small step toward conservation adds up to big savings. Visit CRconserve.com/FilltheRock July 1 through 31 to learn more and register for the water conservation challenge.
