What is the Difference Between a Royal Edict and an Executive Order?

Again the question: What is the Difference Between a Royal Edict and an Executive Order?

The Crown of England stated, “Remove the Cache of guns from the colonist” so we can stop this rebellion – a Royal Edict. The founding fathers rejected this as unjust.

The Executive Branch states, “Limit ammunition magazines to ten rounds” for the law-abiding citizen who buys magazines at the store not the criminal who buys on the street or “BANNING MILITARY-STYLE ASSAULT WEAPONS AND HIGH-CAPACITY MAGAZINES, AND TAKING OTHER COMMON-SENSE STEPS TO REDUCE GUN VIOLENCE” – an Executive Order. What are we the people going to do about it? The right to bear arms is to protect us from tyranny from government and has nothing to do with what happens on our streets.
