West Lincoln Park Hosts Art In the Park This Weekend

Festival Event Brings Lane Closures and Other Restrictions

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-July 11, 2018-The 44th Annual Art in the Park offers artistry and
color both on canvases and in the air this weekend in Steamboat Springs. The event will also bring lane
closures and other restrictions to city streets on Friday, July 13 through Sunday, July 15.
One lane of eastbound US Highway 40 (aka Lincoln Avenue) at West Lincoln Park will be closed for
event set up from noon until 5pm on Friday, July 13. On Saturday, July 14, the one-lane closure on
Lincoln Avenue runs from 7am to 9pm. The same closure returns on Sunday, July 15 from 4pm to 6pm
for event tear down.
No parking is available on Lincoln Avenue west of 13th Street as well as on 13th Street from Lincoln
Avenue to Gilpin Street. Bud Werner Library patrons will have access to the library parking lot as well as
additional on-street parking on the south side of Lincoln Avenue from the bus stop to 12th Street for
library business.
In addition, motorists will see parking restrictions around the event and should anticipate heavy
pedestrian traffic in this area. Please use caution, slow down and follow CSO instructions.
Steamboat Springs Transit (SST)
During the event, SST will operate additional buses from the Stockbridge, which offers public parking, to
West Lincoln Park. Event participants may also use the SST’s Red Line to get to West Lincoln Park. If
SST is not your first choice of transportation; then, spectators are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes
along the Yampa River Core Trail to the event.
Dogs: No dogs are allowed at Art in the Park.
Steamboat Springs Animal Control reminds owners it is illegal to leave a dog unattended on public
property, whether or not the dog is secured by a leash, cord or chain. In addition, with recent hot
temperatures, do not leave your animal in a vehicle or an uncovered bed of a truck when the
temperature is 70 degree or above. It doesn’t take long to turn your vehicle into a hot box and rolling
down your windows or parking in the shade is not enough.
All three instances (Animal Tied Up Unattended; Animal in Motor Vehicle and Uncovered Pick-Up Bed
when Temperature Above 70°) are violations of the Steamboat Springs Municipal Code.
Art in the Park is free to the public and features nearly 160 artist vendors, live entertainment, food
vendors, and an interactive children’s art area. The event takes place from 9AM to 5PM on Saturday, July
14 and from 9AM to 4PM on Sunday, July 15. The festival is located in West Lincoln Park, on the west
