Utah State University wants to help new students and their parents prepare to make the transition to college as easy as possible, especially during a time of change and uncertainty.
In the upcoming weeks, USU will host a series of online events every Wednesday designed to assist incoming and prospective students with these significant adjustments and answer any questions they and their parents might have about their education. Entitled What’s Next Wednesdays, these virtual events will be of benefit to all new students, whether they’re planning to attend school at the main USU campus in Logan, USU Eastern in Price, USU Blanding, through USU Online or at any of USU’s Statewide Campuses throughout the state.
“Our team has been hard at work, transitioning as many of our resources as possible in order to meet the needs of students through virtual methods,” said Katie North, director of New Student Enrollment at Utah State University. “While our offices may be physically closed right now due to COVID-19 concerns, we are working around the clock to provide additional resources to assist students as they embark on their academic journey.”
What’s Next Wednesdays will include presentations and question-and-answer opportunities with relevant experts on a variety of subjects related to the college experience at Utah State University. Topics addressed in Q&A sessions include updated information on how to register, apply for scholarships and establish residency in the state of Utah, as well as presentations entitled “Parenting an Aggie,” “Attend Anywhere” and “Life as an Aggie.”
All of these virtual events can be accessed at usu.edu/admissions/virtual-events, and new sessions will be added in the coming weeks. Students can register to be notified when each event goes live. And for those unable to experience a live session, What’s Next Wednesday events are recorded and can be accessed at any time.
In addition, on the same page on the Admissions website, students can take a virtual tour of the main USU campus in Logan, as well as virtually visit each of the university’s individual colleges. There is also a live chat feature that allows students to communicate directly with representatives from USU’s Admissions, Scholarships, Registrar’s and Financial Aid offices.
