SALT LAKE CITY (June 13, 2013) – The Utah Sports Commission, a non-profit organization chartered with sports event attraction, Olympic legacy and sport development, announced that David Simmons, Chairman & CEO of Simmons Media, will serve as the new private-sector chairman of the board of directors. In addition, James L. Sorenson (Vice-Chairman, Sorenson Development) will serve as private-sector vice-chair, Peter Mouskondis (CEO, Nicholas Company) as treasurer, Senate President Wayne Niederhauser (Utah Senate) as public-sector vice-chair, and Steve Miller (President, Miller Sports Properties) as chairman of the strategic advisory committee.
Mr. Simmons succeeds J. Steven Price, President of Price Realty Group, who had served as chairman since 2007. “We all very much appreciate Steve Price’s hard work and effort on behalf of the organization and look forward to his continuing to play a key role as we move forward,” said Jeff Robbins, president & CEO of the Utah Sports Commission. “We are excited to have David Simmons, Jim Sorenson, Peter Mouskondis, President Niederhauser and Steve Miller provide their leadership, expertise and direction in these key roles at the Utah Sports Commission.”
