Utah Nonprofits Association February Networking Event
Topic: Strategic Partnerships That Increase Success & Impact
St. George -The Southern Utah Committee of Utah Nonprofits Association is pleased to announce the next networking opportunity for Utah Nonprofits Members and the community this Thursday Feb. 4, 2016.  The event will be hosted and sponsored in partnership by Dixie State University and the American Association of University Women St. George Branch from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about both organizations in addition to participating in a relevant and engaging discussion about creating Strategic Partnerships That Increase Success and Impact for southern Utah nonprofit organizations and the many volunteers, board members, stakeholders and community members that support their important work and services.
Increasing community engagement is one of the primary goals of the DSU strategic plan for the next 4-6 years. As a member institution of UNA, the university hopes to position itself as an essential partner for community nonprofits and to recruit community members to serve as volunteers and mentors on campus.
The St. George branch of AAUW's mission is to advance equity for women and girls in Utah through advocacy, philanthropy and education. The St. George Branch of AAUW has had a strong partnership with DSU for many years. The organization provides scholarships for DSU students and sponsors two annual STEM programs on the DSU campus for local youth.
Together these two organizations have created a strategic and successful partnership that brings vital programs such as TechSavvy and eSMART Camp for Girls to our community.  Programs and partnership such as this one impact our citizens and build better communities.  Dawn McLain, Southern Committee Co-Chair explained, “We hope that programs like this will inspire attendees to seek out new partnerships that create success and sustainability for their organizations.  As a result, our communities will become stronger than ever.”
