The 2018 Utah State University Honors Last Lecture, “America in the Mirror: Reflections and Blindspots,” features Jeannie Johnson of the political science department. The event is in the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall on USU’s campus from 3:30-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3.
This annual USU Honors Program event showcases a professor who inspires and motivates students. Honors students nominate outstanding professors who have made a broad impact on undergraduates both inside and outside of the classroom. A student committee selects one exceptional professor to deliver words of wisdom—an imagined “last lecture”—to students, faculty, and the community.
Johnson shares her observations about what it means to be a world power on the global stage. She is an expert in this area: she has consulted with the CIA and the Pentagon, worked with the U.S. State Department and written three books focused on strategic culture analysis. Her talk will both inspire and inform, grounding these complicated issues in the everyday lives of her audience.
The lecture is free and open to the public, with a reception to follow.
