The combined choirs from the Utah State University Department of Music present their annual fall concert, “Autumn Voices,” for all to enjoy on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall on the USU campus.
The USU Women’s Choir, under the direction of Claudia Bigler, will perform arrangements of the haunting early American hymns “No Time” and “Come, Pretty Love,” as well as the Billy Joel favorite “And So it Goes.”
The USU Chorale performs Palestrina’s immortal “Sicut Cervus” and the women of the choir will sing a spirited new arrangement of “Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning.” The men of the chorale will be joined by guest conductor Craig Jessop, dean of the Caine College of the Arts, as they sing two numbers from the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra’s War and the Human Heart.
The chamber singers will perform selections from their album recording project, Be Thou My Vision, which will be recorded later this month with Grammy Award-winning recording engineer, Bruce Leek.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for USU faculty/staff and free for USU students with ID and students in grades 3-12.
