Nine Critical Steps Necessary to Survive in the Nonprofit World
Presented By: Jack W. Rolfe, CEO, School of Life Foundation

Utah Nonprofits Association partners with School of Life to bring Jack Rolfe, CEO to provide vital training to nonprofit organizations in Southern Utah.

St. George, UT – The Utah Nonprofits Association Southern Utah Committee has partnered with the School of Life, a nonprofit organization dedicated reversing the troublesome trend of high school dropouts by providing key after school programs and engagement to increase high school graduation rates, functionality and success that all students deserve.  Rolfe has made a substantial impact locally, and as a high regarded speaker and educator, provides success training in several areas including the nonprofit sector.
Committee Co-Chair Dawn McLain explains, “Our members are all striving to create sustainability for their organizations so that their programs and services will be available to people who truly need them for years to come.  As a leader in the nonprofit sector, UNA provides the opportunity for our members and community members to play an active role in building better cities and towns.  Training and education programs like this support our mission to unify, strengthen and elevate nonprofits across the state.”
Every Southern Utah UNA educational program includes time for practical discussion, networking and the sharing of experiences with your non-profit peers.  Though programs are focused on nonprofit organizations, workshops and networking events are open to the public to participate as well.

During the recession 38% of Utah nonprofits closed their doors. What was missing?  Was there not a need for the services being provided or were the organizations poorly managed?  The nonprofit arena is an important part of the three main sectors in the United States to include government and private business. It is essential that our nonprofit world stay strong and vibrant. Nonprofit organizations often fill the voids that the private and government sectors cannot address. So, how do we survive?  Whether your nonprofit is a start-up or has been in existence for several years, you will learn, be inspired, or simply be reminded of what areas need focus via the following steps:

  1. What makes you unique
  2. Laser focused mission
  3. Strategy/Organization/Legalities
  4. Surround yourself with talented, committed and passionate people
  5. Strong system of delivery
  6. Strong system of evaluation
  7. Learn from those you serve
  8. Sustainable funding
  9. Constant study of your area

COST: $30.00 for UNA Members, $50.00 for Non-Members Light continental breakfast will be served.
