NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans construction contractor, Command Construction Industries, LLC, will reduce west-bound travel on Old Hammond Highway at the intersection of Fleur De Lis Drive from two lanes to one lane beginning at 7 a.m.Tuesday, July 17. The lane reduction, which will last for approximately one week, will allow construction crews to tie the newly-installed sewer line into the City’s existing system. Public safety is our top priority; residents and commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near this construction site.
The lane narrowing barrels will begin at Roy Street and end immediately after the intersection of Fleur de Lis Drive. The $12 million Fleur de Lis Drive reconstruction project between 30th Street and Old Hammond Highway calls for removing and replacing existing water, sewer and drainage lines, repaving the roadway in concrete, installing new sidewalks and installing American with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at intersections.
For questions and/or concerns about the project, please contact RoadworkNOLA at 504.658.ROAD(7623) or send an e-mail to roadwork.
