Tanya Flanagan Campaigning for Seat on Clark County Commission

LAS VEGAS, NV – Longtime community advocate and breast cancer survivor Tanya
Flanagan is running for the District D seat on the Clark County Commission.
Said Flanagan, “It is a great honor to be the voice of the people of District D. The people
of our community can trust and rely on my proven leadership and results-driven
approach to keep District D moving forward.”
Flanagan is President of the Susan G. Komen Nevada Board of Directors, member of
the Las Vegas Chapter of The Girl Friends, Inc., and Financial Secretary of the Alpha
Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Las Vegas Chapter. Previously, Flanagan served on the
boards of directors of several community organizations including the Urban Chamber of
Commerce, Las Vegas Urban League, Greater Las Vegas After-School All-Stars, and
the 100 Academy of Excellence Charter School.
“I love my community. For more than 20 years I’ve worked with some amazing people
and organizations to make our community a better place to live,” Flanagan said. “I want
to continue that work on the Clark County Commission. My priorities are transportation,
business development, quality, affordable housing and mental health.”
In addition to her community service, Flanagan has worked for Clark County for more
than 15 years, beginning as the Commission Liaison for District D. Currently, she is a
Public Information Administrator. Prior to working for the county, Flanagan was a Public
Relations Manager for MGM Resorts International and a Las Vegas Review-Journal
reporter.
Flanagan, 49, has a BA in journalism and political science from the University of
Arizona, Tucson, and is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Executive
MBA program.
Flanagan will hold a campaign kickoff event Thursday, Sept. 19, at 5 p.m. in District D at
