Astronaut, engineer, doctor, Stanford and Cornell graduate Mae Jemison was the first black woman to travel in space. “How far can you jump on your favorite planet?!” is in honor of the astronaut and engineer aspects of her career. English chemist and X-ray crystallographer Rosalind Franklin was first to capture images of DNA, RNA, and viruses. Create a double helix out of candy in celebration of her. In honor of the West Area Computing Unit, made famous by the Hollywood movie “Hidden Figures,” we will have math-tac-toe!
