CHEYENNE – The public is invited to join representatives from the State of Wyoming and the City of Cheyenne for an Arbor Day celebration ceremony at 11 a.m., Monday, April 24 at the High Plains Arboretum, 8301 Hildreth Road.
The ceremony will include the reading of both the Wyoming State and the City of Cheyenne official Arbor Day Proclamations as well as the history of Arbor Day. State Arbor Day Poster Contest winner, Faith Anderson from Yoder, Wyo. will be recognized, and poetry readings will be led by Prairie Wind Elementary students.
Following the ceremony, several apple trees will be planted. Bur-English oak seedling trees will be available at no cost to the public while the supply lasts.
