St. Petersburg, FL (May 30, 2019) – This week, Mayor Rick Kriseman, Congressman Charlie Crist and Muslim leaders from throughout Tampa Bay hosted St. Petersburg’s 3rd Annual Iftar Dinner, emceed by Trevor Pettiford, and welcomed residents of all faiths to celebrate the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Iftar is the evening meal when Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset. The event was held at St. Petersburg’s historic Coliseum, located at 535 Fourth Avenue North. This year’s theme was “Breaking Bread Together with Compassion and Love.”
Mayor Kriseman said “Now more than ever, we must be expressive in our love and respect for people of all faiths. For our third year, I am excited to bring the community together to honor our Muslim brothers and sisters.”
