NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#architect—Residential Design magazine was recently honored with a prestigious Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Single Issue of a Tabloid/Newspaper/Magazine in the 66th Jesse H. Neal Awards competition, the premier editorial excellence program for business-to-business journalism.
The judges selected RD Volume 5, 2019, an issue focused on architecturally-designed urban dwellings, for the award. The Best Single Issue category bestows awards in three revenue classes; RD won in the Brand Revenue of Less Than $3 million division, besting three other finalists. The creative team at RD is led by chief editor S. Claire Conroy and art director Erika Nygaard.
This is the second big Neal Award win for the magazine. Last year, the program recognized Conroy with the G.D. Crain Award for a Distinguished Editorial Career. Conroy has long served the residential design and building communities with first-rate professional content, and previously has won a Neal Award for Best Editorials.
“Of all the national journalism competitions, the Jesse H. Neal Awards is the one business journalists savor the most,” said Conroy. “The judging process is rigorous and the judges themselves represent the best in the business. This kind of peer recognition is deeply meaningful to us. We love what we do at RD. We are passionate about our audience of residential architects and custom builders, and we feel like winners every day we’re able to serve their needs for information and inspiration.”
“Residential Design is about the business of design excellence,” said Paul DeGrandis, president and co-owner of SOLA Group Inc. “We are thrilled at Claire’s success in launching this media brand three years ago. We look forward to her stewardship of it for many more years.”
“Our creative teams have won several important awards in a short time. This latest Neal Award is extremely gratifying,” said Patrick O’Toole, co-owner of SOLA Group Inc. and editorial director of the company. “It demonstrates SOLA’s ongoing commitment to very high quality content.”
