It is springtime in the Rocky Mountains. That used to be the mantra for the weather changing every few minutes or so in the Rockies. However, as I watch the weather across the United States, the mantra is just becoming ???¦?it is springtime.???¦?
It is the end of March in Utah (most other places too), and it snowed overnight. The temperature is a whopping 25 degrees Fahrenheit. And, the fog has settled in for the morning. In New York City yesterday, it was below freezing. In the Midwest, it is the same story with the weather.
Is it just me, or over the past number of years has the Spring Time suffered from schizophrenia? I remember the weatherman/meteorologist talking about el nino and la nina causing the drastic weather cycles. However, in the past few years, people are talking about ???¦?global warming???¦? as the culprit for changes in the weather, the latter being rather politically charged.
Me? All I know is that, currently, the weather and seasons are not like when I was younger. The seasons seemed to be more defined when I was younger. Now, Spring drags out through mid-May or longer. I wonder if our Easter Egg Hunt will have snow like last year. Or, if the warm weather won???¦??t come until July, as it did in 2010.
I don???¦??t know what the official meteorological term is for weather that changes so quickly and is not able to decide whether it is winter or spring. From my back chair analysis, I am naming it weather schizophrenia.
