Relatively Speaking: Won????????t He Do?

Relatively Speaking is a throwback to another time in the world of genealogy. These are anecdotal stories to inspire those who search for their ancestors. Although, many of these stories are from before the world of computers and certainly the age of the internet, I believe that all of us have benefited from serendipity in our research.

Won????????t He Do?

One cold rainy day in December, a couple visited the Georgia Archives Building. It was very noticeable that the lady was the one interested in the search for ancestors. She asked for a census film from a certain county. The lady in the research room directed them to the film room.

She was elated, she could hardly wait to get the film on the machine and get it rolling. The husband showed his impatience and disinterest but he took a seat in a dark corner of the room to wait until she had finished.
Suddenly she stopped the machine and exclaimed in a happy voice, ??????I’ve found him, I’ve found him at last, after all these years of searching.?????? A smile appeared on her husband????????s face as he stood to pull his coat closer in preparation of facing the cold outside. Then a groan from his wife as she checked the film closer. Slowly and sadly she said, ??????Oh no, he is not the right one ???????? the same name but not the right age.??????

The husband replied, with disgust in his voice, ??????Won????????t he do???????
