Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced the appointment of Quinlan Locke as the Charlestown Neighborhood Liaison within the Mayor’s Civic Engagement Cabinet.
“Quinlan is no stranger to Charlestown, and I am excited to have him join the Office of Neighborhood Services,” said Mayor Walsh. “Charlestown is a neighborhood steeped with tradition and I know Quinlan will work hard to make sure the needs of residents are met and will advance our goal of providing excellent city-services to every neighborhood in Boston.”
As the Charlestown Liaison, Locke will serve as the primary contact for constituents and businesses looking to connect with the Mayor’s Office, and will facilitate the delivery of services in collaboration with City departments.
The Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS) encourages, facilitates and maximizes citizen input and participation through service requests, neighborhood meetings, mailings and emergency responses. “I am very honored to be appointed as the Charlestown Liaison for Mayor Walsh’s office,” said Locke. “Over the past four years, I have seen firsthand how much the Mayor cares about Charlestown and I look forward to working with him and other City departments to continue the great quality of life our neighborhood has.”
Born and raised in Charlestown, Quinlan went on to study at the University of New Hampshire where he received his Bachelors of Arts in Recreational Management and Policy in 2015. After college, he served as the Aquatics Director at the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club.
Quinlan is an avid sports fan and continues to coach youth swimming in Charlestown in his free time. He enjoys rooting for New England sports teams and exploring the open spaces in Charlestown.
