BOULDER, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Enrich Life at 50 and Older.org (ELO50), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is holding an important free event at the Boulder Public Library Theater on Thursday, April 27 starting with registration at 6:00 pm, for people 50 and older (50+) who want to remain actively engaged after the first half of their lives. Come to this event and learn about more than 20 ways beyond working for pay that enable people 50+ to remain actively engaged in ways that add value for themselves, their community, and the larger world.

The focus will be on how people 50+ can be active, engaged and contribute for many more years beyond a retirement age of 65 that was established by the Social Security Act in 1935—82 years ago! With 30 years added to longevity from beginning to end of the 20th century, the reality is that millions of Americans can continue in value-added activities into their 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond.

It is interesting to note that in a 2014 national survey co-sponsored by Merrill Lynch of more then 7,000 workers 50 and older, more than 70 percent stated the driving force was not to earn more money but rather to keep their mental edge sharp, move into a new line of work, and to retain their social connections.
