The Unified Government has contracted with Infrastructure Management Services, LLC (IMS) to drive the streets of the county with some specialized equipment that will gather condition and location data for several different assets within the UG right of way. They will be collecting information on:
- the pavement
- curb and gutter
- pavement markings
- street light
- ADA ramp
- sign and signal, and
- location of trees within the right of way
This data will then be analyzed by IMS and UG Staff to help develop future maintenance projects and programs for these assets.
The data collection will begin the week of December 18, 2017 and will progress for the next 5-6 weeks (weather depending). Below is an image of the vehicle you may see driving around at slow speeds, but please know it is fitted with data collection devices including laser measurement bumpers, and several video detection cameras.
If you have any questions or concerns about the data being collected or what the potential uses might be please feel free to contact Brandon Grover, Asset Management Coordinator, with the Unified Government at 913-573-5700.
