What to do on a dreary Saturday? That was the dilemma facing me this past Saturday. Luckily, there was more to do than clean around the house. It was the Annual Providence City Car Show. I had not been before, so I decided to drive down and walk around the cars and see what this show was all about.
Walking into the west parking lot of the Zollinger Park there were about 30 cars on display. The first car that caught my eye was a Cobra. They are unique and always catch my eye even if it might be a replica. If it is a replica, it represents a massive amount of effort to put everything together so it will run. More than I could ever do with my screwdriver.
What amazes me about the cars is the care that is given to these vehicles. I am not disparaging the efforts with these cars at all. The fact is that these car owners have a passion and it shows in how they take care of the cars.
I only wish that I could keep the engine of my car looking as clean and shiny as these cars.
Providence City continues to try to make this a great afternoon. Music by Lovell Studios was provided and hot sandwiches were provided by All Occasion Catering. Even with the weather not cooperating fully, there were several hundred people that came out to support the car show and to see these incredible machines.
