The list of Pocatello roads set to be worked on in 2018 has been released.
Recently, the City of Pocatello Street Operations Department released its yearly paving plan. The document lists which roads should be resurfaced or receive a fog seal, chip seal, or a micro-seal treatment. In 2018, the department plans to treat 37.5 miles of the Gate City’s streets.
“The last winter season was milder than the previous year, resulting in less extensive damage to roadways,” said Tom Kirkman, Street Operations Superintendent. “We focus on treating all city roads at the right time and with the right treatment. With this targeted approach, we’re able to stretch each dollar we invest in Pocatello’s roads further and ensure we get the maximum amount of life out of the street.”

Over the last two years, more than 73 miles of Pocatello’s 260 miles of road have been treated.
While the plan is a guide for work that should be completed, officials would like to remind residents that unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather could lead to projects being postponed or canceled.
