The Pocatello Parks and Recreation Department is asking you to come drain a few buckets for the fight against hunger.
Saturday, December 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods, the department will host its annual “Holiday Hoopla” free throw shooting contest to benefit The Idaho Foodbank. The cost is $3 to take a turn and make as many free throws as possible in one minute with division winners taking home a $50 gift certificate from Dick’s Sporting Goods.

“You’re not limited to shooting just one round,” said Brian Lowman, Recreation Supervisor. “If you have a bad round, another $3 gets you another chance at the line and it all goes to a good cause.”
Competitors will be grouped in boys and girls categories with four divisions 9 years-old and under, 10 to 11 years-old, and 12 to 13 years-old. Those 14-years-old and older will compete in an open division. In the case of a tie, the shooter with the best free throw percentage will be deemed the winner.
Registration forms will be available at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1844 Hurley Drive, the day of the event.
