The Parks and Recreation Department’s new main office will now open Wednesday, March 29 at 3140 “N” Street (32nd and “O” St.). The new office was scheduled to open tomorrow, but some work spaces are not yet functional. The office at 2740 “A” Street permanently closed Friday.
“We are excited to move into our new space, and ask for the public’s patience during this transition,” said Parks and Recreation Director Lynn Johnson. “Our new offices will have key divisions under one roof, allowing us to better serve the residents of Lincoln.”
The administration, park facility reservations, athletics, planning and construction and community forestry divisions will be located on the third floor of the building next to Woods Park that also houses the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department. Parking for the new offices is available on the east side of the building from “O” Street and 31st Street. The Lincoln Parks Foundation office also will be move to the 32nd and “O” location. The locations of all other Parks and Recreation offices and centers remain the same.
The “A” Street office is being removed as part of the Lincoln Children’s Zoo expansion project. The historic building that houses the Ager Indoor Play Center will be open through Friday, March 31.
