The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for about 24 Youth on the Move AmeriCorps members to provide summer camp activities for youth in kindergarten through 12th grade.  The positions run from May 30 to August 11.  Members will facilitate physical activity, nutrition and enrichment programming at Peter Pan Park and UPCO Park.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department’s Summer Food Program, which provides free breakfast and lunch for children from birth through age 18, will also provide meals for the campers.

AmeriCorps members must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED. The quarter-time positions are 450 hours and the minimum-time positions are 300 hours.  All members will complete their hours no later than August 31.  Members will receive a living allowance every two weeks and an education award upon successful completion.  For more information or to apply, contact Deb Buckman at [email protected] or 402-441-4907.
