Panama City Beach’s “Chasin’ the Sun” TV Show  Honored at 38th Annual Telly AwardsPANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla., March 28, 2017Panama City Beach’s fishing and coastal lifestyle TV show “Chasin’ the Sun” has been awarded with a Silver Telly in the Travel/Tourism category for the 2017 Telly Awards. “Chasin’ the Sun” is currently in its second season and airs Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. EST / 7:30 a.m. CST on Destination America network, which reaches approximately 56 million U.S. households.

“With past winners including popular shows on major networks including Time Warner, HBO, Fox and NBC, among others, we are honored and thrilled to have received a Silver Telly for ‘Chasin’ the Sun,’” says Visit Panama City Beach President and CEO Dan Rowe. “The exciting fishing and outdoor activities available here certainly make for beautiful television.”

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs; the finest video and film productions; as well as web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world. On average, the Telly Awards receive over 13,000 entries annually from all 50 states and numerous foreign countries. Less than ten percent of entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly, the highest honor.
