Northbound Limelight Avenue closed July 19-24 for Meadows Parkway reconstruction

Once complete, construction will lead to a safer, smoother road. In the meantime, the effort to improve Meadows Parkway will bring a new detour this weekend along Limelight Avenue.

Northbound Limelight Avenue will be closed from Sol Danza Drive to Meadows Parkway starting Thursday, July 19. The closure will be in place through Tuesday, July 24, and is necessary for the contractor to finish construction on the intersection of Limelight Avenue and Meadows Parkway. Please be mindful of detour signs in the area, and keep in mind alternate access to businesses will be available. For alternate routes, please use Sol Danza or Prairie Hawk drives.

It’s also important to note, there are currently several other detours in the area. Particularly, note all traffic has been shifted to the westbound lanes of Meadows Parkway between Lombard Street and Prairie Hawk Drive.

Crews have been working since late May to replace the 30-year-old concrete along Meadows Parkway with asphalt. The goal is to have the project complete before school starts.

During construction, please consider taking alternate routes, and give yourself extra time to get through the work zone. Also, remember to merge late, then alternate. It’s important to use all available lane space. This will ensure an orderly progression and keep traffic moving as best as possible.

The Meadows Parkway reconstruction project is an example of your tax dollars at work. The project is budgeted for $2.5 million. Of that, $1.3 million is coming from a Federal grant administered through the Denver Regional Council of Governments. The rest is coming from the Town’s Transportation Fund, which includes revenues from sales tax, motor vehicle tax and building use tax.
