NEW ORLEANS — Residents are invited by the New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission to get involved in the search for the new NORD Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Residents can apply to join the Executive Search Committee byfilling out the interest form here.
(Note: Information that residents provide in the interest form is public information.)
The Executive Search Committee will consist of seven people, with two of the slots provided for community members. While the meeting schedule for the search committee has not yet been set, interested candidates can expect to attend semi-frequent meetings that will be scheduled over the next few months.
Residents are also invited to participate in a community input meeting scheduled for Monday, July 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers inside City Hall. This will be an opportunity for the pubic to provide input on what skills sets and priorities the next NORD CEO should possess.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell serves on the Commission and has made finding a permanent CEO a top priority of the administration.
NORDC is comprised of 13 community leaders appointed by the Mayor. It also provided for the formation of the NORD Foundation, a nonprofit organization that serves as a fundraising body. NORD Foundation’s generous board members represent many of the city’s leading businesses. Learn more about NORDC at nordc.org.
