NORDC Continues Movies in the Park 2016 Fall Season

New Orleans Louisiana Recreation CenterNEW ORLEANS, LA — This Friday, September 16, 2016, the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) will continue the 2016 fall season of Movies in the Park with “Zootopia” at Burke Playground (2524 Annunciation St., New Orleans, LA 70130).

The Movies in the Park series features free, family-friendly outdoor movie screenings at NORDC playgrounds for residents across the City. NORDC partners with playground booster clubs and community organizations to promote the events. This season, each film screening will have an alternate location in case of inclement weather. Friday’s screening will be held at Lyons Rec Center in case of inclement weather.

The movies will begin at sunset, between 6:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., weather permitting. Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive early for fun fitness activities with instructors from Fit NOLA at NORDC. The screenings are free and open to the public. Moviegoers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and

picnics. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, weapons, smoking, or cooking will be allowed during the event.

CEO of Southern Theatres and New Orleans Recreation Development Foundation Board Member George Solomon made a significant contribution to the Movies in the Park program, which will be used to support the Movies in the Park program.
