NEW ORLEANS — This Friday, October 7, 2016, the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) will continue the 2016 fall season of Movies in the Park with “Inside Out” at Lakeview Playground (5501 General Diaz St., New Orleans, LA, 70124).
The Movies in the Park series features free, family-friendly outdoor movie screenings at NORDC playgrounds for residents across the City. NORDC partners with playground booster clubs and community organizations to promote the events. This season, each film screening will have an alternate location in case of inclement weather. Friday’sscreening will be held at the Gernon Brown Rec Ceter in case of inclement weather.

The movies will begin at sunset, between 6:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., weather permitting. There will be 30-minute practice sessions for the annual Thriller Mob before all Movie in the Park events through October 28. All moviegoers are welcome to participate in the practice sessions led by NORDC and FitNOLA partner Kenneth “Kynt” Bryan.The screenings are free and open to the public. Moviegoers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, weapons, smoking, or cooking will be allowed during the event.
CEO of Southern Theatres and New Orleans Recreation Development Foundation Board Member George Solomon made a significant contribution to the Movies in the Park program, which will be used to support the Movies in the Park program.
