NOPD VOWS Unit Arrests Subject in Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad has arrested a subject in connection with an aggravated assault with a firearm that occurred in the Third District.

Jamya Brady, (DOB: 09/14/1992), was arrested on April 2, 2018 in the 900 block of Poydras Street in the Eighth District in connection with an incident that occurred on March 30, 2018 in the 100 block of Hennessey Street.

The victim told police that at about 11:23 p.m., she was on the front porch of her residence while a subject – later identified as Brady – was sitting in a white Mercedes Benz parked in the street and was armed with a black and silver handgun. The victim told police that Brady fired one shot in the direction of her and her daughter, with the bullet striking the front door frame of the residence.

Brady was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated assault with a firearm.
