[delay +1 hour]

NEW ORLEANS – Superintendent Michael Harrison and other city officials will kick-off the 35th Annual Kelly Marrione Night Out Against crime event at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at A.L. Davis Park, located at 2600 LaSalle Street, followed by remarks from city leaders at 5:30 p.m.

The event is free to the public and will feature free food and drinks, family friendly activities, resources for job opportunities, health screenings and much more.

Night Out Against Crime brings together citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials to raise crime prevention awareness, reduce crime and increase the support of local, state and federal law enforcement. In 2017, residents and businesses held more than 200 neighborhood block parties across the city.

Residents, businesses and organizations can register their parties for free with the NOPD online at https://www.nola.gov/nopd/night-out/.

Participants are encouraged to post photos from their events on social media using the hashtag #NightOutNOLA. The NOPD’s official Twitter handle is @NOPDNews.
