NOPD Graduates 34 New Recruits from Training Academy


NEW ORLEANS – NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison officially welcomed the NOPD’s newest 34 members today (June 29, 2018) during a ceremony at McDonogh 35 High School.

Joining Harrison in the ceremony were New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, keynote speaker Camille Whitworth, emcee Norman Robinson, members of the New Orleans City Council, NOPD deputy chiefs, department leadership, academy staff, civic leaders and family and friends of the recruits.

Recruit Class 182 will now move from the Training Academy to the field, as they will work assignments within the department’s eight field districts.
