NOPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Shooting on Carondelet Street

NEW ORLEANS – Tonight, (Oct. 20) the NOPD Homicide detectives have arrested Decarlo Carter (DOB: 10-24-1996) in connection with the homicide that occurred last night, October 20, 2018 in the 100 block of Carondelet Street. Carter was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for second degree murder.

Eighth District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 100 block of Carondelet Street, at around 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim lying face up in the street, suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS via a medical doctor.

Upon further investigation, detectives developed and positively identified Carter as the perpetrator and obtained a warrant for his arrest for two counts of second degree murder in connection with this incident.
