NOPD Arrests Subject in Eighth District Attempted Armed Robbery

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD has arrested a subject wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the Eighth District.

On August 20, 2018, around 5:21 a.m. while working the French Quarter Task Force detail Detective Elliot Gray observed the perpetrator of the attempted armed robbery, which occurred on August 19, 2018 around 9:21 p.m. in the 1100 block of Decatur Street.

The images of the subject, identified as Shawn Hubbard (W/M DOB: 4-26-1984), were captured by a Real Time Crime Center surveillance camera located at Esplanade Avenue and Decatur Street.

Hubbard was observed riding his bicycle at the intersection and was apprehended without incident.

A search incidental to arrest revealed a realistic green and silver pellet gun in Hubbard’s backpack.

Hubbard is charged with use of a firearm in a robbery, attempted armed robbery with a gun, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
