The New Mexico State University Military Family Communication Project, the Department of Communication Studies and the Military and Veterans Programs office will be hosting a free screening of the movie “Fort Bliss” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the College of Health and Social Services Auditorium.
MFCP works with New Mexico Veterans Services staff and the NMSU Military and Veterans Programs office to help veterans and their families deal with communication problems related to military deployment.
According to Communication Studies Department Head Kenneth Hacker their mission fits in perfectly with the plot of this movie. “Fort Bliss” portrays some of the strong communication issues connected to military deployment and stress upon returning home.
“We are happy to note that the writer and director (Claudia Myers) of the movie will Skype into the auditorium to introduce the movie,” said Hacker. “She is an excellent movie producer and director and people should be very touched by the film.”
The movie is open to the public and intended for mature audiences.
