Newly Elected City Officials To Be Sworn In

Ward 4 Councilman Stavros S. Anthony And Department 2 Municipal Court Judge Susan Roger To Take Oath Of Office


New Las Vegas city logoThe Las Vegas City Council will see two newly elected officials sworn in at the Wednesday, April 19, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m.Redevelopment Agency meeting in council chambers, located at 495 S. Main St.


Councilman Stavros S. Anthony was re-elected as the representative of Ward 4 and Judge Susan Roger was re-elected to serve in Municipal Court Department 2. Chief Judge Cedric Kerns also won re-election to Municipal Court Department 5, but due to a scheduling conflict will be sworn in at a later meeting.


In addition, Councilman Steven D. Ross will recognize National Tartan Day in celebration of the Scottish Declaration of Independence being signed April 6, 1320.


Also, Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman will recognize the fifth anniversary of the Downtown Intuitive Farmers Market. The market is held downtown at the old Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada bus station near Third Street and Stewart Avenue, and has been a popular addition to the city.


Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow is scheduled to recognize the efforts of the All American Youth Football Combine. The event gives high school football players the opportunity to show their skills for college recruiters.


Finally, the City Council also will recognize the April 2017 Employee of the Month.
