NEA Big Read Irving 2019 Kickoff: A Blast with Chast Sock Hop

Description:
Irving Public Library partners with Irving Heritage Senior Center to kick off this year’s NEA Big Read Irving and the selected title Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant? by New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast.

At 6:30 p.m., join us at Irving’s exclusive senior center for a dance lesson, then at 7 p.m., show off your new footwork while accompanied by live DJ music. At 7:45 p.m., enjoy an ice cream social and have your caricature portrait made. You can also take a break, pick up a free copy of the book, and read at the Wallflower Station. Adults.
