The Friends of Pioneers Park Nature Center (PPNC) invites the public to a murder mystery dinner theatre event from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday August 26, at the Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave. A limited number of tickets for the “Mystery on the Prairie” fundraiser are still available and must be purchased in advance at lnknaturecenter.org for $30 ($25 for members of the Friends of the PPNC).
“Mystery on the Prairie” is set in 1890 in the fictional town of Coyote Canyon along the banks of Salt Creek. Guests are encouraged to dress in character, and a prize for best costume will be awarded.
The meal will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Prairie Building auditorium. The menu includes chili, cornbread, pie, tea and sarsaparilla. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available. Following dinner, guests will visit Coyote Canyon’s school, pub, general store and boarding house to hear the local gossip and obtain clues to help solve the mystery.
The Friends of PPNC is a non-profit organization that promotes and supports the development, programming and operation of the Center. The Friends group raises fund to provide scholarships for children to attend the PPNC preschool/pre-Kindergarten program and summer camps. Funds raised also help cover the cost of elementary school field trips, admission fees, artwork and equipment.
