A man caused fire started close to the mouth of Millville Canyon just outside of Logan, Utah on Sunday afternoon. The local fire captain estimated that the 100 plus acre fire would be contained by nightfall.
No structures were in danger, but as of late evening, the fire was still climbing the ridges above the city of Millville with at least two helicopters dropping water on the flames.
Early in the day it appeared that the fire would be contained to the canyon itself. However, by six in the evening, the fire had climbed the north ridge and climbed with flare-ups and flames reaching at least forty feet into the air.
