Miami-Miami Beach route to be added to growing Miami Trolley system

(Miami, FL, July 26, 2018) – Thursday, City of Miami Commissioners voted to expand the City’s trolley system by adding theCrossBay Express to provide service between Miami and Miami Beach.

"The Miami Trolley continues to grow in popularity and it will only increase with this long-desired link between two of the most vibrant communities in our area," said City Manager Emilio Gonzalez. "The City of Miami is committed to enhancing mobility to better serve our residents and visitors."

Details for a one year test period, including launch date, hours of operation, fare, and final route are yet to be finalized. A proposed route includes stops at Bayside Marketplace in Miami and the Miami Beach Trolley stop on Washington Avenue and 5th Street in Miami Beach.

CrossBay Express trolleys will be owned by a private partner and funded by ride fares.
