Miami Helps Hurricane Michael Victims

Hurricane Michael caused vast devastation to the Florida Panhandle. Days after the storm made landfall, a 100-member team of Miami Fire-Rescue and Florida Task Force 2 conducted search and rescue missions and provided other assistance in Mexico Beach, Florida.

“We have gone to numerous man-made disasters and I can say that without a doubt that what we saw in this incident ranks amongst the worst we have ever seen,” said Chief Joseph F. Zahralban. “The level of devastation these communities have experienced is absolutely unprecedented.”

After a 7-day deployment, the City of Miami’s Fire & Rescue Department and Task Force 2 made their way home to Miami on October 19. We cannot thank our hometown heroes enough for their service!
