Meadowland Boulevard and Westwood Boulevard Intersection Improvements

Traffic to be impacted through August

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Construction began the first week of June at the intersection of Meadowland and Westwood Boulevards. The closure of the intersection was not expected to last as long as it presently has; however, the discovery of multiple utility conflicts has caused a redesign of the storm sewer alignment, which has extended the project timeline.

Overall construction activities include, but are not limited to:

· Storm sewer installation

· Concrete curb bump out/ADA compliant curb ramps

· Sidewalk/driveway improvements

· Traffic signal upgrades

· Utility relocations

· Mill/overlay intersection

Based on the new timeline, construction completion is expected at the end of August, though the intersection is expected to open Aug. 6. All construction is weather and resource-dependent. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes.
