Spring Photo Scavenger Hunt
Saturday, May 2, 10 am – 3 pm
Ages 5+
$8 members/ $10 non-members — includes admission to the Ogden Nature Center
Join us for a fun spring scavenger hunt. Bring your digital camera or phone and challenge yourself to check off several springtime sightings. Explore the trails and sneak up on animals as you learn about and enjoy spring at the Ogden Nature Center. Prizes will be given out to individuals that complete the list.
 
Wild Wednesdays: Mother Nature

Help celebrate Mother’s Day by looking at nature’s outstanding moms. From the elephant who endures 22 months of pregnancy and gives birth to a 200 lb. baby to the mommy orangutan who nurses her baby for seven years! Bring your mother as we explore the wonders of Mother Nature. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Fly with the Flock 5K Fun Run / 2.5K for Kids

Please join us for the 13th Annual 5K Fun Run/2.5K for kids. Children will enjoy the 100 foot kids’ dash and everyone will love our fantastic pancake breakfast after the run.  Registration is $27 for adults and $16 for kids.  Included are breakfast, a t-shirt, and prize drawings. Registration the day of the race will take place from 6:30 am – 7:30 am as space allows.  Pre-registration online is encouraged. Runners may pick up their registration packets at the Ogden Nature Center the day before the race, May 8th.  Race begins at 8 am on May 9.
 
Wild Wednesdays: Nests and Nooks

Birds make their homes high and low, in nests, in holes or on rocks. Explore the handiwork of nature’s feathered architects. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Scout Saturdays
Saturday, May 16
9am – Native vs. Invasive
10am – Conservation
11am – Venomous Reptiles and Poisonous Plants
$5 per scout/per class
The Ogden Nature Center provides the perfect outdoor classroom for scout activities. Have an educated teacher/naturalist help your scout pass off badge requirements during these 45-minute mini classes. Reservations and a non- refundable deposit (50%) are required. Watercolor Wildflowers 
with Utah Artist, Terry Johnson
Saturdays, May 23, 30 & June 6 10 am – 12 noon
Ages 12+
$60 members / $75 non-members
Join us on Saturday mornings in May to paint wildflowers with watercolors.  We might also branch out into butterflies and bugs! Watercolor artist Terry Johnson will demonstrate and teach techniques for getting colors, shapes and styles down on paper.  Bring a basic watercolor palette, your brushes and your own paper – recommended 300 lb. d’arches.  Please RSVP by Tuesday, May 19 to 801-621-7595.  Class size is limited to 12.

Did you know the Bald Eagle had to compete with the turkey to become our national symbol? It’s true!  Join us for a special Memorial Day program with the Ogden Nature Center’s own Bald Eagle, Des Ta Te.  Come learn about these special birds and hear how they finally became our national symbol. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Preschool Discovery Days: Floats and Fins and Things that Swim

$5 per child for preschool groups over 5
For ages 3-5 and their accompanying adult
Try finding a frog or spotting a turtle as we explore the world of creatures that swim through hands-on activities, songs, stories and more. Make a fishy magnet you can take home.
