El Paso County, CO – The ride-sharing company Lyft is offering 400 free rides until June 30 for El Paso County residents who need transportation to any of the more than 100 COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the county. The voucher codes were made possible in a partnership between Lyft, Homeward Pikes Peak, Pikes Peak United Way/2-1-1 and El Paso County Public Health.
To claim the code, residents will need to call 2-1-1 and either create or have an existing Lyft account. After receiving the code, they will be able to request a driver and be taken to the nearest clinic. To find the nearest clinic, use the map feature on El Paso County Public Health’s COVID-19 vaccine provider page. Lyft requires any minors to be accompanied by an adult.
The $10,000 value of the rides is part of Lyft’s Vaccine Access Program, though which companies, community organizations and individuals use Lyft’s transportation platform to help underserved communities access vaccination appointments. The initiative aligns with El Paso County Public’s Health goal to make it easier to access vaccines by reducing and eliminating barriers.
Vaccines are authorized for anyone 12 years and older, although only the Pfizer vaccine is available for those 12-17. To find providers, locations, pop-up mobile clinics and which locations are welcoming walk-up vaccines, visit elpasocountyhealth.org.
