I love barbecue. Not sloppy joes, or barbecue flavored chips, or saucy barbecue, but real slow cooked dry barbecue. I like to have sauces to put on the meat once it is finished, but I definitely prefer the dry-rub style barbecue.
Savannah????????s Barbecue opened several weeks ago where Smokin???????? Blues BBQ was located. I may have been one of the first people to try it because they didn????????t have all of their supplies for ??????to-go?????? orders. And, I think there was still some testing going on with the menu and servings. I tried it a second time and was similarly impressed with the dine-in option. How was I going to get my wife to go here with me?
There was a major remodel about two years ago in the restaurant. The entry, booths and the new section with the stage and tables give Savannah????????s a nice feel. Now, it just needs to have the nice smoky ambiance that comes with age.
I decided to give Savannah????????s Barbecue one more chance. I went there with my brother for lunch a week or so ago and had the pulled pork sandwich. I ordered the sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. This time the sandwich was piled with meat and there was a good serving of fries. There is a variety of sauces, some sweet and some spicy.
The menu had been refined with everything from burgers to ribs. There are ample choices of sides to go along with your meal, which include the slaw and fries. The prices have also been tweaked a little and they seemed reasonable; under $20 for two people works for lunch. Especially, if it is something out of the ordinary.
