More than 41,000 cities across the United States now have a local calendar to use for all types of local events.
The programmers at Area-Info.net have just launched the new calendar feature. The calendar is designed to display local events that have been added by locals in the city of interest. These events can be from schools, clubs, cities, libraries, sports teams, businesses, and non-profits.
Our programmers have designed the calendar to be easy to use and view. Through our testing, people have told us that they like the layout and how straight-forward the calendar looks. The calendar is “wiki†style, which means that anyone can add to the calendar. By doing this, the calendar can become a true community calendar with all types of events that make up a community.
Our goal is to make this the go-to calendar when people are looking for events in your town. This can only happen when our readers participate.
To participate, choose your city and add one event to the calendar (link is on far, right side of city navigation bar.)
Area-Info.net is a national newspaper site with an emphasis on local news and events. It is the culmination of more than 10 years of developing other websites to test the concept and features. With the launch of Area-info.net, we are on the way to gathering local news for every city across the United States. For more information and to participate, please visit www.area-info.net.
