Yuma, Ariz. – Once again, tunes will accompany delicious tacos with the return of the Tunes and Tacos Festival, April 14-15 at Ray Kroc Sports Complex and Desert Sun Stadium. And only $1 gets you in to see this year’s headliner, Lisa Lisa.
This two-day festival kicks-off on Friday, April 14, 6 to 9 p.m. at the People’s Choice Salsa Queen Competition and Kick-off Party inside the Yuma Civic Center, 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive. This free event is open to the public and features salsa tasting, a tequila expo offering complimentary samples, and entertainment. Plus, you can watch as our panel of local celebrity judges taste test dozens of tacos in the Taco King competition.
On Saturday, April 15, gates to the Tunes & Tacos Festival open at 11 a.m. Admission is just $1 per person and gives you access to all festivities, including two free carnival areas with unlimited rides, Tacotopia, a Jak’d Up car show, and the Bill Alexander Automotive Group Main Stage (no separate concert ticket required.)
“Each year, through the generosity of our sponsors and community, this event gets bigger and better,” said Carrie Ring, marketing specialist for the City of Yuma.
Bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy a full day of live music featuring local acts DJ RC, Paloma, Tommy and the Drifters, and Facebook Fan Favorites KrookTone Classics; from Phoenix, Risque; and our 2017 headliner Lisa Lisa, the Latina pop icon who rose to fame in the mid-80’s with chart-toppers including “Lost in Emotion,” “I Wonder If I Take You Home,” “All Cried Out” and “Head to Toe.”
“This is a family-friendly concert with music that will have everyone on their feet,” said Miriam Limon, marketing specialist for the City of Yuma.
