Library to celebrate 50th anniversary of Woodstock with free tribute concert, four days of activities Aug. 15-18

Austin Public Library will share peace, love and air conditioning as it hosts a special indoor Woodstock tribute concert from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 17 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic celebration that took place in August 1969 in Bethel, New York.

The local lineup will be headlined by Guy Forsyth and will feature Sho Humphries, Deezie Brown, SaulPaul, Sarah Sharp, Brian Scartocci, Bob Cheevers, and Rochelle and the Sidewinders.

The Saturday performances also will be broadcast live from 2 to 6 p.m. on 91.7 FM KOOP and will be streamed at koop.org.

The event is a nod to the spirit of Woodstock that has heavily influenced musicians, artists and Americans for generations. The full Austin series of events includes:
